Driving Business Results Through Workplace Mental Health
Tuesday, October 17, 2017
1:30 pm – 3:00 pm – Niagara Room
More than half of Canadian workers are affected by chronic diseases and/or mental health issues. This is having a massive impact on productivity and economic stability for many organizations. But, in most, the costs and benefits of employee wellness on the organization’s business results are poorly understood. This can translate into a waste of valuable resources and difficulty in meeting the organization’s mandate, strategic goals and objectives.
Work stress has been shown by numerous credible studies to be related to mental health issues and chronic disease. Creating and sustaining a psychologically healthy and safe workplace will have a positive impact on business results. However, it requires more than incidental endorsement from senior leaders. Senior leaders need to have a clear understanding of the fundamental link between employee mental health and business results. They need a clear vision of what a psychologically healthy and safe culture looks like for their organization, and they need solid data to prove that their investment is having a positive impact on the business so that they can justify the ongoing allocation of necessary resources.
Participants will gain a clear understanding the true impact of chronic diseases and mental health issues on their organization’s bottom line and will discuss practical methods for showing measurable improvement on their key business results through supporting employee mental health.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
